Social Media and Mining

This webcast will use case studies to explore how stakeholders of the mining industry are using social media to meet different objectives. Each case study will illustrate how a particular social media platform provides a communication and engagement benefit. Leading practices will be outlined. The webcast will also address some of the perceived risks of using social media for public engagement and will provide some ideas for considering a strategic approach to outreach. The webcast will help practitioners determine which social media tools are appropriate for their communication and stakeholder engagement strategies. Topics that will be explored through case study include Community Relations, Human Resource Management, and Social Media Leading Practices.

Evaluation of Humanitarian Action: ADVANCED
31 May 2012 - 01 June 2012
Brussels, Europe

Channel Research is pleased to announce the second advanced short training course on ‘EVALUATION OF HUMANITARIAN ACTION’, in collaboration with ALNAP, facilitated by Margie Buchanan-Smith and John Cosgrave. It will take place near Brussels from Thursday 31 May, to Friday 1 June 2012 inclusive. Participants are expected to arrive on Wednesday evening at the welcome dinner and depart on Friday early evening. This advanced training will be based on the participants own experience, and will therefore be conducted in a seminar-like style. The trainers will work to facilitate learning by the participants and will provide information, examples and links to external resources. The theme of evaluation utilisation will be central to the whole programme. Participants are invited to reflect on issues and challenges they have faced in their own evaluation experience, as well as examples of good practice, and to bring them to the course. There is room and flexibility built into the schedule which means that the final schedule will depend on the evaluation issues and concerns brought by the participants. This advanced training on evaluating humanitarian action is intended for experienced evaluators and evaluation managers. Participants from the introductory training are expected to gain extensive evaluation experience before they attend the advanced module. If you are interested in joining this course, please fill in the application form and send it back with your CV or a short biographical notice, preferably before 15 May 2012 to: Ms. Luisa Ortiz E-mail: ortiz@channelresearch.com Tel: +32 2 633 65 29. We will be happy to answer your questions and to receive your comments.
