The Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board is an institution of public government created by Part 5 of the Mackenzie Valley Resources Management Act (MVRMA), a federal statute.This discussion paper explores the contribution SEIA can make to social and economic sustainability in the Mackenzie Valley. It was used for public consultation prior to the development of SEIA guidelines that now govern EA and EIR.
The Office of the Extractive Sector CSR Counsellor is part of the Government of Canada's strategy on corporate social responsibility. As part of its role, the Office launched a dispute resolution mechanism, called "the Review Process" on October 20, 2010.
