The objective of the CSR Checklist is to provide Canadian mining companies developing mining projects abroad with a tool that can assist them to plan for and mitigate potential environmental, social and ethical challenges they may encounter. The checklist is designed to raise awareness of basic community relations approaches and to prepare companies to successfully engage communities and address social risk. The checklist was developed by Natural Resources Canada based on initial work by Triple R Alliance and in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development, the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada, The Mining Association of Canada, Plan Canada, rePlan and UNICEF Canada.
