This guide is part of the inputs intended to support the full implementation of the new Environmental and Social Policy Framework (MPAS) of the Inter-American Development Bank, particularly the Gender Equity Environmental and Social Performance Standard (NDAS 9). This is an input for the incorporation of a broad and plural perspective of gender equality, that is, one that includes sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. The recommendations and practices outlined here are useful resources to take into account in two fundamental instances: 1) in the risk analysis of potential disproportionate negative impacts that may arise as a result of the operations of projects financed by the Bank for LGBTQ people; and 2) in the design of prevention, mitigation, and compensation measures that may be required.
