The objective of this study is to measure the socioeconomic changes in the population resettled in Villanueva in comparison with the control population, El Brasil, which is located within the project’s area of influence and has not been affected by the resettlement process. A quantitative and qualitative analysis of spatial, sociodemographic, economic, and political/organizational variables is performed by charting changes in the means of these variables for the resettled population in comparison to those for the control population and the results of the ethnographic study. An econometric analysis is also performed in order to assess the impact on socioeconomic variables for the resettled population as compared to the non-resettled control population
